REVIEW: Chick-Fil-A Egg White Grill

Chick-Fil-A recently added the Egg White Grill to their breakfast menu to compete with the healthy breakfast fast food market. Just by appearance, it closely resembles the Egg White Delight from McDonald’s and other english muffin breakfast sandwiches. It’s marketed as a high protein, low fat option from a breakfast menu that offers a wide variety of fried chicken and buttery biscuits. It’s nice to see Chick-Fil-A expanding their horizons to offer healthy options to satisfy the national trend of healthy eating. I will say I’ve been a bit skeptical of the Egg White Grill tasting anything more than bland, plain egg and chicken on a boring multi-grain bun.

I must start out by complimenting Chick-Fil-A on their customer service. Always extremely friendly and prompt. I received my online order perfectly within like a minute. An Egg White Grill can be purchased for $3.49, but I got mine free with a coupon.

At first look of the sandwich, I was impressed with the amount of chicken and egg white present. The chicken patty is definitely smaller than the size they use on the original chicken sandwich or grilled chicken sandwich but it’s plenty big for breakfast. The egg white is also quite substantial and very tasty as it is smothered in american cheese. I believe they season/grill the chicken the same way it’s lunch counterpart, which is quite salty and flavorful. I definitely got a lot of black pepper flavor, which is visible on the chicken. The english muffin acts as a nice carrier for the healthy breakfast sandwich even though it is a lot less rich than Chick-fil-a’s buttery biscuit. This sandwich doesn’t sound/look very tasty, but it is very flavorful, especially paired with one of the many sauce options. I went with the Sweet&Spicy Sriracha sauce which gave a nice kick.

The Egg White Grill really hit the spot for me today. I may have been really hungry and I’m very partial to Chick-Fil-A, but I’m going to give it an 8.5/10 rating. For a healthy breakfast sandwich that packs 25g protein and 300 calories, it was very tasty and pretty substantial. I’d probably add some fruit or maybe hashbrowns to make for a solid breakfast. It is a bit pricey for breakfast, but worth it if you want a healthier option that still tastes great.
